How Much Did Kates Weave Cost

December: Jupiter, the eclipse difficult

GIOVE

NOVILUNIO
Cade domenica 5 , so that the first weekend of the month ( 3-4-5) and the bridge of the Immaculate are excellent for observing faint objects, and very good also the period between Christmas and year-end especially in the first part of the night. The second weekend (10-11-12 ) is rather ideal for lunar observations.

Total Lunar Eclipse takes place on the morning of 21 and, for Italy, it is rather unfortunate. The Moon sets in fact not long after the beginning of the partial phase, so all are invisible. Furthermore, the observation of the phenomenon is disturbed dall'incombere dawn. The phase twilight starts at 6:29 local, the partial eclipse starts at 7:32 and is something very similar to the photo at the beginning of this post. All data on this phenomenon in site F. Espenak (NASA) .

Geminids
E 'the classic meteor shower in December, and lasts from seven to 17, with the peak of the falls scheduled for noon on the 14th (so it should be noted one or two nights before and after this time). The rate of falling meteors, under ideal conditions, also reaches the 120 per hour. Unfortunately will not be the case this year, with a moon just annoying to bother in the evening the most comfortable for viewing.

103P/HARTLEY 2
Unless unlikely increases in brightness, December is the last month when we follow this periodic comet, which was the peak of visibility in October. His brilliance is now in sharp decline, roughly between magnitudes +9.5 and +7. The observing conditions are optimal, however, with the comet observed for most of the night, though not particularly high southern horizon. Its motion is relatively small, between the constellations of Puppis and Canis Major, a few degrees east of Sirius and always in full Milky Way. Ephemeris and recent state .

SN2010JL
Discovery November 2 in UGC 5189A, a galaxy in the constellation Leo, this supernova reached magnitude 13 and may be even brighter during the month of December.

VENUS
appears most splendid in the hours before dawn, in the same direction where the sun rises then the telescope is always the appearance of a sickle, and if at the beginning of the month exhibits the proper diameter 42 ", illuminated with a fraction of 24% at the end of the month the diameter is reduced to 27", but the planet is lit almost half. The 3 conjunction with Moon, 22 with the star Alpha in the constellation Libra, the 31 again with the moon.

C/2010 V1 Ikeya-MURAKAMI
Discovery in November due to a sudden outburst which has significantly increased the brightness, this new comet 17P/Holmes recalls the appearances, which gave great show in 'Autumn of 2007. No one can say with certainty what will be the brilliant Ikeya-Murakami in the next month if the outburst continues, the magnitude could be around the +8.5 / +9.0, but it could be 4 magnitudes more weak, thereby making themselves out of interest to amateur astronomers. The comet to be found in the morning, between the constellations Virgo and Libra, a few degrees south-west of Venus. Ephemeris and updated situation.
