Il calo di luce è netto, maggiore di 2 magnitudini, and being removable, the magnitude +12.1, owners of telescopes from the sighted could 15cm in seconds when the star is obscured. The key, however, as in every asteroid occultation, it is time to better the times of disappearance and reappearance of the star.
There lunar disorder, finding the Moon below the horizon, but the sky is still a bit 'light, since the event during astronomical twilight. In any case, the low light of dusk should in no way interfere with the observation, given the brightness of the star. Italy is the north star high sixty degrees at the time of the occultation.
What makes this event very interesting is the likelihood of success, and that is to actually see the occultation as "positive": the center of the band occultation provided you have 97.7%! At the edge we have a decent 50%, while the standard distance of 1-sigma you still have a 15.9%. This means that the position of the asteroid is known with great precision, and that the observations of the occultation will help to refine it further. The uncertainty of time of the event, in light of this, it is limited to only 3 seconds.
The map above was obtained with a valid software Occult Watcher , which is able to interface with the predictions of asteroid occultations Google Earth, even placing the positions of the people-watchers who propose to groped observation. The band is bounded by the expected occultation of blue lines, while the green line corresponds to the center. The red lines separate the 1-sigma distance (thick line) and 3-sigma (thin line), outside which the probability of success drops to zero. We see that in practice throughout northern Italy and various European regions nearby, like the Swiss canton of Ticino, are favored. My position (Santhià) is indicated by the black telescope, but some time you are booked on other observers server di Occult Watcher per seguire l'evento, alcuni anche in Italia.
