"Reverence" is the first single from "Honey Is Dead" (1992), the fourth album by Scottish brothers Reid, aka The Jesus and Mary Chain.
The song does not have an easy life, immediately is banned by American radio and television stations outside the United States because of potentially offensive text (I want to die just like JFK , I want to die in the USA ... I just want to die like Jesus Christ, I want to die on a bed of spikes, "I want to die like JFK, I want to die in the U.S. ... William Reid, sagacious mind of the group, responding to criticism journalistic cunning, Reverence impersonating a "wannabe song."
